I started homebrewing in 2014, buying extract kits from Northern Brewer. Living in a small, one bedroom apartment, I stuck with it for a few years because of the limited space. Nothing I brewed was great, but at least it was drinkable. I was learning, and brewing beer was cheaper than buying it. It was encouraging and discouraging at the same time, but I never gave up. This continued until January of 2018 when I put everything I owned in storage and technically became homeless. Started working on my credit and paying off debt so I could buy a house. I let my friends borrow my equipment and gave them two kits I bought but never brewed. Finally, in May 2019, I purchased my house! Later that year I was able to retrieve my brewing equipment from my friends and got back into brewing. I brewed I think maybe three batches and said screw this, I’ve got the space for equipment now, I’m upgrading to all grain.
